Born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, Emma Paulino launched her organizing career fighting for her three children as they struggled in Oakland public schools. Over the last 16 years, as an OCO leader and staff person, Emma has been a champion for deep, sustainable leadership development—identifying and shaping thousands of moms, dads, students, teachers, pastors and parishioners who fight for excellent and equitable education, just immigration policy and safe communities. Emma is a prayer warrior and can often be found at 8 o’clock mass. Emma’s favorite place to be is at home cooking and laughing with her family.
