OCO Leaders

Barbara Lafitte-Oluwole

Six years ago, our son was murdered on the streets of West Oakland. No parent should have to experience that pain. But too many of us are worried that it will happen to us next. Thanks to our involvement in OCO we were able to deal with our loss as we continue to use OCO as a vehicle to make our families and neighborhoods safe. Building relationships by taking time out to do 1-1's with your neighbors is a way of creating power in individuals that will empower them to get involved so that they can join us to make necessary changes in our city to better our communities.
