Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization

OCO holds the need and the right of families to live in decent, safe neighborhoods with affordable homes in which to raise their families.  We have developed a variety of strategies to meet these needs, including policy initiatives on a local, state and national level, partnerships with non-profits, and work on blight and housing abandonment to make sure neighborhoods are safe.  OCO has fought for inclusionary zoning to ensure housing affordability for families across the city, and has worked with non-profits to build new affordable housing for families and senior citizens.  Most recently, OCO is developing relationships with lending institutions in order to mitigate the foreclosure crisis that is devastating thousands of families in Oakland.
