OCO holds the need and the right of families to live in decent, safe neighborhoods with affordable homes in which to raise their families.

We have developed a variety of strategies to meet these needs, including policy initiatives on a local, state and national level to change foreclosure practices, reduce blight, move money to reinvest in neighborhoods, and leverage investment to create employment opportunity. OCO has successfully fought for Community Benefits Agreements, Bus Rapid Transit and land use plans and Community Land Banks. We have worked with nonprofits to build new affordable housing for families and senior citizens.

Most recently, we have urged individuals, institutions and government entities to move their money to banks with proven commitment to invest in communities with greatest need.
