On Dec. 11, OCO parents, students and school staff spoke up boldly about the Oakland Unified School District board’s proposed budget policy that, if approved, could affect the Prop. 30 and LCFF money that has been promised to the schools.

While the school board has yet to take any action on the proposal, the community agrees that more information needs to be shared about how each school will be impacted so that we can understand whether this new system will truly provide equity for the students with the greatest need.

We’ll continue to follow this issue and, as you can hear in the video, we hope the board pays attention to what we want for our schools.
