Ceasefire Oakland is a community-driven, faith-led effort that OCO introduced to the city. The strategy, when implemented correctly, works as a partnership between the city, police department and community organizations to reduce gun violence in Oakland’s “hot spots.”
Since we restarted Ceasefire in 2012, homicides have dropped by 22 percent.
